Rakhi Sawant booked for hurting religious sentiments

JALANDHAR: The police on Friday booked Bollywood actress Rakhi Sawant for hurting religious sentiments of the Valmiki community. Rakhi Sawant had allegedly uploaded a video of a recent interview with a TV channel on social media, where she had made controversial remarks against Bhagwan Valmiki.

A case under Section 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious belief) has been registered at the Rama Mandi police station on the complaint of Pawan Hans. Hans, a resident of Basti Danishmandan, who heads the Balmiki Jagriti Sabha Punjab, has filed a complaint against the actress.
