ROHTAK: The police announced on Friday a reward of `10,000 for anyone who gives information of the whereabouts of Akash, an accused in the alleged gangrape of a 21-year-old Dalit girl in Rohtak.

Except for his name, the police have been clueless of his whereabouts since 2013 - when he was accused by the girl of raping her. The police have constituted a special investigating team to probe into the case. “Three accused have been arrested, the fourth one is on the run, and the fifth remains untraced,” police said. The three arrested have given CCTV footage as alibi of them not being in Rohtak at the time of the incident.

The police have been focusing on finding the CCTV footage of the victim as per the incident recalled by her to the police in the FIR. The victim said that she was abducted from near her college at 1.30 pm.

The police sources said she was not found in footage of the CCTV installed in the vicinity of her college between 1 pm to 3 pm on the date of the alleged incident.
