A Russian-origin aircraft, the Antonov-32 has been in service with IAF since 1984 Powered by a turboprop engine, it can carry 40 to 50 passengers or 7.5 tonnes of cargo India bought 125 of the tactical military transport aircraft; around 105 are still in service

HISTORY

In March 1986, one of the first AN-32s being delivered to IAF from the then Soviet Union disappeare­d over the Indian Ocean. No survivors or wreckage found
