BEHRAMPUR TOLL PLAZA: HC NOTICE TO NHAI, PUNJAB

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab and Haryana high court on Friday put National Highway Authority (NHAI) of India among others on notice on a public interest litigation seeking shifting of toll plaza installed at Behrampur near Rupnagar from Chandigarh-Jalandhar road to Ropar- Kiratpur road. The high court bench of justice SS Saron and justice Lisa Gill acted on the petition of Amritsar resident, SS Verka, wherein it was alleged that the toll was installed illegally at wrong place and commuters were being illegally charged for private gains.
