Govt to clear ‘Shagun’ backlog in 15 days

CHANDIGARH: Punjab government will disburse `45.2 crore under the ‘Shagun’ scheme among 30,153 beneficiaries within 15 days to clear the backlog pending since 2009. Reviewing various welfare schemes, chief minister Parkash Singh Badal also directed the secretary, Scheduled Caste/ Backward Caste welfare, to do verification of 4,000 pending Shagun cases.
