Narsingh Yadav’s doping infringement is ignominious but more deplorable is that the country’s most successful individual Olympian, Sushil Kumar, can’t replace him, as the deadline for sending his name is over. The use of performance-enhancing drugs is widespread in sport, but what’s the point of winning this way? Why should wrestlers, who take pride in their natural athleticism, even get near dope?
