Rank 12 for IIT-B in QS BRICS
IIT BOMBAY’S OVERALL SCORE IS 84.4 OUT OF 100. IT HAS A SCORE OF 99.1 IN ACADEMIC REPUTATION AND 100 IN EMPLOYER REPUTATION,
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has moved up to the number 12 at the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) University Rankings BRICS for 2016.
Since its last appearance in 2015 in the rankings, the Institute has moved up three places. IIT Bombay’s overall score is 84.4 out of 100. The Institute has a score of 99.1 in academic reputation, 100 in employer reputation, 91.5 in citations per paper, 94.7 in papers per faculty and 97.6 in staff with Phd, all scores out of a maximum of 100. “The improvement in the ranks is a reflection of the progress being made by IIT Bombay, particularly in its research contributions,” says Prof Devang Khakhar, Director, IIT Bombay.
IIT Delhi is ranked at position 15 and IIT Madras at 19. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore is ranked at 6.
The QS University Rankings BRICS is a ranking of the 250 top universities in the five BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa). Performance of the universities are based on eight key parameters, which are, academic reputation (30%), employer reputation (20%), faculty and-student ratio (20%), staff with Phd (10%), papers per faculty (10%), citations per paper (5%), International faculty (2.5%) and International students (2.5%)
