NEW DELHI: Inderjeet Singh maybe crying conspiracy over his failed dope test, but his past run-ins with the anti-doping agency suggest it may not be entirely surprising.

On June 9, Hindustan Times reported Singh, and women’s discus thrower Seema Antil, have not been sharing their whereabouts details with the National Anti Doping Agency.

According to World Anti Doping Agency, athletes are to inform their respective national anti doping body of their residence and travel plans so as to ensure an effective out-of-competition testing.

In the report, HT stated Inderjeet had been avoiding NADA since January.

Reacting to the report, Inderjeet sent a letter to HT rejecting the allegations and claimed he had appeared for dope test at least 10 times in one year.

“I write this mail to you as a very disappointed athlete. This is in reference to your article dated 9th June, 2016. I wish to notify you that the National Anti Doping Agency conducted a dope test on 26th May, 2016 in Bhiwani, the proof of which has been attached in this mail. Before this I was also tested after my event at the Senior Federation National Athletics Championship in April,” he said in the letter.

“I would also wish to add that I have never received a warning about my whereabouts and have always been available for random as well as competition dope testing as and when I have been asked to do so. I have also timely submitted my whereabouts on the WADA whereabouts section. Last year, I was tested almost 10 times and each (time was) available for the same,” he added.
