It’s never too late to be what you might have been

Most teenagers seem in a hurry to grow up and do what grown-ups do. And people of 20 complain of a short teenage. For someone on the wrong side of 50, though, the time is moving too fast. They even say it is flying?

Every looked back and thought you could have done some things differently? Well, everyone lives at a different pace. Some call it a day at 50, while so many others bloom late. Some retire with regrets and unfulfilled desires, while late bloomers realise how the years have passed and they buckle up to explore, experiment, and have new experiences. After all, as quoted by James Lendall Basford: “Human life is but a school day of eternity.”

Every passing day is an opportunity lost, every day is heavy with possibilities. You have the time now and the energy enough to do all the things you wanted to do but didn’t get round to doing for one reason or the other. Today is a great time to get in touch with yourself, your introspective side, and say: “Hey, do I know you?” You could do a churning of your ideas and maybe connect with your desires and potential. You may discover inherited traits that you are unaware of, for now you have the time and the opportunity to explore.

Late bloomers have many advantages. They have experience on their side, a better idea of what they don’t enjoy, and the ability to balance their expectations with the new demands. By middle age, many of us have a fair idea of our strengths and weaknesses. Our mistakes that taught us valuable lessons will come in good stead. Obstacles, if any, will give us experience.

The glitches won’t be personal failure but insights into how to do it right. “Often when the body is imprisoned, the mind enjoys its largest liberty,” Basford quoted again. “How abundant the manufacturers, and how numerous the failures, in the commerce of ideas!”

It is time to recognise your achievements, big or small, and build on them. With some faith in the generosity of the universe and the belief that, when you want something, the power above meets you halfway, get geared up for something. Shout “abracadabra”, show us your magic, and open the doors to amazing opportunities and wondrous possibilities, for a reflective, self-contained, and profound enjoyment. There are men who run on ahead of their age and open the gates of the future.

TODAY IS A GREAT TIME TO GET IN TOUCH WITH YOURSELF, YOUR INTROSPECTIVE SIDE, AND SAY: ‘HEY, DO I KNOW YOU?’
