HINDU TEMPLE VANDALISED, THREE IDOLS FOUND SMASHED IN BANGLADESH
DHAKA: A Hindu temple was vandalised and three idols destroyed on Sunday in Bangladesh’s northern Netrokona area, weeks after over 10 temples were attacked in the Muslim- majority nation. The incident came to light after people of Mymensinghorohi village in Pabna district found the doors of the Sharifpur Kali temple open on Sundat morning and smashed bits and pieces of the temple architecture lying on the floor. Three broken idols were found lying about 600 feet away from the temple, the Dhaka Tribune reported. Police have launched an investigation. “We are treating the case with priority. A group with vested interests may have carried out the crime to disrupt communal harmony,” they said.
