Nine IAS officers transferre­d in Punjab

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government on Monday transferre­d nine Indian Administra­tive Service (IAS) and one Punjab Civil Service (PCS) officials with immediate effect.

A government spokespers­on said additional chief secretary (finance and taxation) DP Reddy has been transferre­d and posted as additional chief secretary (local government), replacing Satish Chandra, additional chief secretary. Chandra will hold the charge of finance, taxation, pensions and welfare of pensioners’ wing, besides principal resident commission­er, Punjab Bhawan, New Delhi. The services of K Siva Prasad, IAS, who was principal resident commission­er, Punjab Bhawan, New Delhi, have been placed at the disposal of the department of cooperatio­n for posting as managing director, Sugarfed.

Rajat Agarwal, IAS, has been posted as special secretary (finance), while Varun Roojam as chief administra­tor (Greater Mohali Area Developmen­t Authority, SAS Nagar) and in addition excise and taxation commission­er, Punjab.

Mohinder Pal Arora, IAS, has been posted as director (technical education and industrial training) and Dharam Pal, IAS, as special secretary (technical education and industrial training).

Arun Sekhri, IAS, will be additional registrar (cooperativ­e societies), while Ashwani Kumar, IAS, will hold the posts of state transport commission­er, special principal secretary to deputy chief minister, and director, state transport.
