Cold wave grips Hisar, Sirsa; boon for Rabi crop growers
HISAR: Despite a rise in minimum temperature on Monday, Haryana is still in the grip of a cold wave.
The minimum in Hisar was recorded at 8 degree Celsius, whereas in Sirsa it was 7 degrees.
The agriculture and meteorological department of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University (CCSHAU) predicted that fog or mist in the morning will remain till night.
There also chances of rain in coming week.

The farmers of Sirsa have sown wheat crop in 3.5 lakh hectare, mustard in 50,000 hectare, grams (chana) in 4,000 hectare and barley in 6,500 hectare, said, deputy director agriculture (DDA) Babu Lal.
“The condition is good for the farmers. But looking at the fluctuations in minimum temperature, the farmers are advised to go for light irrigation to lessen the effect of standing water which turns frosty in the night,” said, Raj Singh, head of agriculture and meteorological department of CCSHAU. Notably, the Sirsa and Hisar have already witnessed 0.4 to 0.8 degrees last week.
