J&K HIGHWAY CLOSED

Fresh snowfall and rains in plains disrupted normal life in Udhampur, Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts on Monday. The Srinagar-Jammu national highway and all major link roads of Udhampur,Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban remained closed. Heavy snowfall was seen in Basantgarh and Panchrai areas of Udhampur and the Chenab valley. Doda, Ramban and Thathri recived the season’s first snowfall after several years. “Considering that about 2ft snow has accumulated on roads and heavy snowfall at Patni Top stretch, the administration has decided to stop movement of all vehicles on the highway on temporary basis," said DSP (traffic) NH1B Aftab Ahmed.
