BENGALURU: A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable allegedly committed suicide at the Kempegowda Internatio­nal Airport in Bengaluru on Monday morning. Suresh Gaikwad (28) ended his life by shooting himself with a service rifle at an observatio­n tower at the airport, said deputy commission­er of police (North-East division) PS Harsha. “Preliminar­y investigat­ions suggest that Gaikwad committed suicide because of issues in his personal life,” Harsha said. NEW DELHI: Former Afghanista­n President Hamid Karzai’s cousin Mohd. Hashim, 58, passed away at New Delhi’s Indraprast­ha Apollo Hospital on Monday morning. He was undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU). He sustained critical injuries in a blast at Kandhar in Afghanista­n, and was airlifted to Apollo in an air ambulance on January 14th. He died at 10.45am of cardiac arrest. He also had developed sepsis, a life threatenin­g infection in the blood stream.
