Political turncoats are having a field day in the run-up to assembly elections. With the entry of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) upsetting the bipolarity of Punjab politics, each party has been wooing and rewarding turncoats from the other camps. On a day former Amritsar MP and BJP leader Navjot Singh Sidhu formally joined the Congress, AAP announced former Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Upkar Singh Sandhu as its Lok Sabha candidate from Amritsar. Former Uttarakhand Congress chief Yashpal Arya joined the BJP on Monday. The last word on defections is yet to come though. Last heard, the BJP is in touch with a host of leaders from rival camps.
