Nair’s Valentine, a red hot Mustang
In Valentine’s Day week, lady love need not necessarily be one’s partner. Look at our cricketers for example. Of course India captain Virat Kohli has garnered most views, likes, shares and retweets by finally professing his love for Anushka Sharma publicly.
But there were some other interesting social posts as well. MS Dhoni was brought to his knees and made to crawl by her daughter Ziva. Murali Vijay on the other hand, posted some father-son moments spent in the middle of the sea.
India’s latest triple centurion Karun Nair is still possibly single but this year, his date is a red customised Ford Mustang.
The iconic American muscle car, whose bookings in India started July last year, has recently started rolling out and it seems the India batsman has wasted no time to get his hands on the car.
Not only that, Nair has also proudly unveiled the car on Twitter as ‘My Valentine’. The registration number on the plate though is one to watch out for. Numbered KA 03 NA 303, it is also a personal statement for the Karnataka batsman. NUMBER GAME Since Nair is from Karnataka, the first two letters of the registration number are KA which incidentally fits well with Nair’s first name. ‘NA’ are the first two alphabets of Nair. And 303 of course is the innings Nair had scored against England in Chennai in December.
That was only the third instance in history, after Sir Garfield Sobers and Bob Simpson, when a batsman converted his maiden century into a triple hundred --- enough reason to celebrate by customising the registration number. But this isn’t the first time a cricketer has tried to give permanence to numbers special to them. MS Dhoni had customised the registration number of his Hummer 7781 after his birthday (July 7, 1981).
