Two acquitted of loot, arson in Rohtak

A local court on Saturday acquitted two youths of charges of rioting, loot and arson during the Jat agitation in February last year due to lack of evidence. Ajay and Sachin, both from Rohtak, were booked in connection with loot and arson at a two showrooms and a liquor vend at D-Park in Rohtak.

The police had received a tipoff based on which they searched a shop and found the robbed items. The owner of the shop had told police that he had given the shop on rent to Ajay and another youth, Manjeet. The police had held Ajay and Sachin, but given a clean chit to Manjeet, who was son of the personal security officer of the local MLA and minister Manish Grover. HTC
