Copying: Board changes staff of Majitha school
The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has changed the staff on examination duty at a Majitha school in Amritsar following complaints of attempt of mass copying in Class-12 English exam held on February 28.
Board chairman Balbir Singh Dhol said following an inquiry, it was found that there was attempt of mass copying.
“As a corrective measure, we have changed the staff of the examination centre and permanent observer has been appointed. Besides, special scrutiny will be done during checking of answersheets and in case of any indication of copying, strict action will be taken,” said Dhol.
Police have been directed to ensure strict compliance of prohibitory orders outside the examination centres, he added.
10 UNFAIR MEANS CASES REPORTED
Meanwhile, 10 cases of cheating were reported from across Punjab in the Class-12 board examination held on Friday.
Four cases were reported from SBS Nagar, three from Rupnagar, two each from Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur and three from Mukerian.
The board chairman visited an examination centre at Malerkotla, where some students were sitting on floor to write their exams, and directed the staff to make seating arrangement for next exam.
On Friday, 79,719 students appeared for political science at 1,379 centres, 56,254 students for physics at 1,014 centres and 30,972 students for business studies-2 exam at 874 centres.
