25-year-old woman has accused her former landlord and two of his friends of rape. A case was registered against the accused on Sunday evening at the Brahmpuri police station.

“The woman used to live with his husband and three children in a rented house near Ramgarh Mod. Around 15-20 days ago, the family vacated the house but couldn’t pay the full rent. The owner, of the house, Sajid, in turn, did not let the family take all belongings,” said the head constable of the Brahmpuri police station.

The victim, in her complaint, said that on February 27, Sajid had called her to say that he is ready to release her belongings and asked them to visit him at his house. Both the victim and her husband reached Ramgarh Mod as decided and met one of Sajid’s friend, Rizwan, there.

While the husband waited at nearby tea stall, Rizwan apparently accompanied the woman to Sajid’s place.

“Rizwan took the woman to a nearby place where Sajid and another friend Imran were waiting. The woman alleged that the trio raped her,” said the official.

A case has been registered under section 376 (rape) and 354 (outraging modesty of a woman) of the IPC at the Brahmpuri police station.

“The woman has said in her complaint that the incident took place around 7:30-8pm on February 27.

We are further investigating the matter and the medical test of the victim was conducted on Monday,” said the police.
