Sidhu occupies CM’s chair, told to vacate

-

When Navjot Singh Sidhu is around, controversy cannot be far behind! A day after the dust on the “office of profit” issue over his participation in a comedy show had finally settled, the cricketer-turned-politician landed himself in a fresh one by sitting on the CM’s chair in the middle of the oath-taking ceremony of MLAs on Friday.

Sidhu, who was busy cracking jokes first with Amarinder and later telling him about Delhi model of generating power from sewage, inadvertently went and sat on the CM’s chair after Amarinder left. He was asked by the assembly staff to go back to his chair and he did. His session of jokes and banter with Inderbir Bolaria, Raj Kumar Verka and Randeep Nabha continued even after that.

Though he shook hands with assembly pro tem speaker Rana Kanwarpal Singh and later the CM, after taking oath as member, for Sidhu, getting a hang of the protocol is not coming easy. While taking oath as minister, Sidhu had flip-flopped by forgetting to shake hands with Punjab governor VP Badnore and had to be reminded by the staff. Amarinder, too, had to call out to remind Sidhu to shake hands with him.
