Solar tariffs have dropped 73% since 2010: report
Solar energy tariffs in India have fallen by about 73% since 2010 in tandem with with Chinese spot module prices, which have fallen by about 80% in the same period, consulting firm Mercom Capital Group said in a report on Friday. Intense competition in reverse auctions for solar projects has pushed firms to bid lower tariffs, sacrificing margins to gain market share, it said.
