If Virat Kohli sits out of the fourth Test match due to injury, it will end his run of consecutive Tests at 54 (overall 57). Only 9 Indians (10 instances) have played more Tests in a row than Kohli.

India have not fielded the same eleven in any of the 25 Tests Kohli has led since being formally named skipper, during the 2014-15 Australia tour. If Kohli fails the fitness test, then Ajinkya Rahane, the team’s vice-captain, will lead and will become India’s 33rd Test skipper.
