ROHTAK:The All India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) on Sunday announced to continue its token dharnas at nine districts in the state till the government takes action to fulfil their demands as decided in a meeting held in Delhi on March 19.

AIJASS president Yashpal Malik said dharnas will go on in Jhajjar (Rashwala Chowk), Rohtak (Jassia village), Sonepat (Lath-Joli village), Jind (Ikkas village), Hisar (Ramayan-Mayyar), Panipat (Ugrakheri), Fatehabad (Dhani Gopal), Kaithal (Deban) and Bhiwani (Dhanana) districts. However, all other dharnas will be lifted by Monday, he added.

Malik made the announcement during a meeting of the core committee of the AIJASS held at Jind to decide the further course of action of their agitation after the state government has agreed to fulfil their demands a day before they had warned to choke Delhi and gherao Parliament with tractor-trailers.

“These dharnas will be more like district offices of the AIJASS where people can come with their problems and our leaders will help them. No protesters will be allowed to sit here,” he said.

Malik said they have lifted 16 dharnas so far on the assurance of chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Union ministers Birender Singh and PP Chaudhary. “However, we will continue to monitor the government’s action on our demands after every 15 days by organising
