CHANDIGARH: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Gurugram, Umesh Aggarwal, the most vocal among about a dozen MLAs who have since recently been flaying chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar for not addressing their complaints, has once again opened his tirade against the chief minister.

Launching a fresh outburst on Saturday, after Khattar paid a surprise visit to Gurugram, Aggarwal said that chief minister’s visit to Gurugram once again established the fact that he was now being completely controlled by the bureaucrats. Expressing surprise over his visit, he told HT that he failed to understand why Khattar did not inform or invite any of the three party MLAs from Gurugram district.

Aside from Aggarwal who represents Gurugram, the Pataudi assembly segment in the district is represented by Bimla Choudhary and Sohna, Tejpal Tanwar. “Not inviting party MLAs shows that Khattar has no respect for people’s representatives,” he held.

Aggarwal said it was apparent now that Khattar did not want to get out of bureaucrats’ control. When asked about his complaints, he said that roads in Gurugram had been dilapidated since long and rampant corruption was on in the municipal corporation.

“I had raised the issue of the scam of Gwal Pahari land in the budget session of assembly after which the CM had promised an inquiry into it. There is no sign of it to this day. Last year, Gurugram had seen flooding on roads for which ₹174 crore was sanctioned, no one knows where the money has been spent,” he said and added that Khattar was not paying attention to such issues.
