LUDHIANA COP DRAGGED ON CAR BONNET
Drug peddler had come to deliver heroin at Shimlapuri in Ludhiana, tries to speed away at naka, SI jumps on car to stop him
A sub-inspector was dragged on the bonnet of a car by an alleged drug smuggler for about 200 metres when he tried to nab him in Ludhiana. The incident took place at Shimlapuri where a special naka was set up by cops.

The incident took place at Shimlapuri on Saturday when SI Sanjiv Kumar of the anti-narcotic wing tried to nab the alleged smuggler identified as Sunny Aulakh alias Sunny Doda of Jain Colony, police said.
Doda had come to Shimlapuri to deliver ‘chitta’ (heroin). Police said a team, led by the SI, had laid a special naka at the Ittawala Chowk to nab the smuggler. “We stopped Sunny, who was in a Maruti Swift car along with a woman, and asked him to step out of the vehicle. However, he tried to speed away,” said Sanjiv Kumar, who jumped on his car to prevent the smuggler from fleeing.
The smuggler, however, first reversed the car following which the SI fell on the bonnet. The SI was dragged on the bonnet of the car for about 200 metres. He fell down on the road when the viper of the car broke down.
The whole incident was captured on a CCTV installed in the market. The police cordoned off the area after the incident and even conducted raids throughout the night to nab the smuggler.
The SI suffered a hairline fracture on his left arm besides some bruises. He joined his duty immediately after first-aid, and on Sunday arrested another smuggler and recovered 10 cartons of illicit liquor from his possession, said police.
Punjab Police have launched a crackdown against the drug smugglers as the state government vowed to wipe out drug menace from the state.
