CAPT FOR PROBE INTO INDORE GURDWARA DEMOLITION

-

CHANDIGARH: Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday requested his Madhya Pradesh counterpart Shivraj Singh Chouhan to look into the alleged damage to Kartar Kiran Gurdwara in Indore during a recent demolition drive and take all possible steps to assuage the sentiments of the Sikh community, which had been hurt by the reported “excessive” action of the police and municipal authorities.

Amarinder took serious note of the reports suggesting that the sanctity of the religious place had been defiled and the concerned authorities had also misbehaved with the Sikhs there during the demolition.

He requested the Madhya Pradesh CM to get an inquiry instituted to ascertain the veracity of the media reports, and take suitable action against anyone found guilty of any excesses to avoid the possibility of tensions flaring up in the wake of the incident.

Chouhan assured Amarinder that he would personally look into the matter. HTC
