SAY NO TO TRIPLE TALAQ

The monstrosity called triple talaq has long been abolished by Pakistan, Bangladesh and many other Muslim-majority countries, but the Congress government made no serious attempt to ban it due to its votebank appeasement policy. The hue and cry raised by some Muslim leaders, accusing the BJP government and the courts of meddling in Muslim Personal Law is an absurdity as no personal law is above the Constitution. Our Constitution prohibits any discrimination on religious grounds, and personal laws should be amended from time to time to suit the changing times. Mona Singh
