Kejriwal doing cheap self-publicity: Naidu
Accusing Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal of indulging in cheap publicity, Union minister for urban development, housing and urban poverty alleviation and information and broadcasting Venkaiah Naidu said it’s time for opposition parties, especially Congress, introspect reasons for their fall.
In Chandigarh to chair a meeting with Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on issues pertaining to urban development and housing for poor, Naidu dismissed Kejriwal’s allegation of tampering of electronic voting machines (EVM) in Delhi municipal corporation polls. Aam Aadmi Party was routed in Delhi polls. “Kejriwal is making lame excuses,” Naidu said.
“He must understand that these are the same EVMs with which he won Delhi assembly polls two years ago. These are the same EVMs with which Congress won in Punjab last month. He is indulging in cheap publicity,” Naidu said.
“They need to understand why their stature is diminishing while Modi’s is growing,” he said. “Modi’s stable government has won over directionless, leaderless and corrupt systems in different states,” he added.
Naidu said government will give befitting reply to naxals killing jawans. “It is unfortunate that so-called human rights activists vanish when security forces are killed but raise hue and cry when forces act,” he said. “Naxals, separatists and militants must understand that their ideology is outdated. True power comes from the ballot,” Naidu said.
