PASS PERCENTAGE UP BY 2% This year too, government schools perform better than private
Girls outshone boys in the Class-12 examinations of Haryana Board of School Education, the results of which were declared on Thursday. The total pass percentage was 64.5%, 3% more than the previous year.
The pass percentage for girls was 73.44% while for boys it was 57.58%.
Government schools fared better than private schools this year with 65.57% pass percentage while private schools’ and private aided schools’ managed a pass percentage of 63.1% and 66.38% respectively.
The pass percentage in 2016 was 62.4%. Last year, the girls’ pass percentage stood at 70.77% while boys could manage only 55.79 %. Last year too, the government school fared better than private schools.
This year, Jhajjar district had the highest pass percentage with an overall of 71.51 % while Faridabad fared the worst with a result of 47.86%. The maximum number of students (18,592) appeared from Bhiwani district, the result of which was 67.3% while the minimum students appeared from Panchkula, (2,522) which had 59.87 % result. Last year, Sonepat schools had the best result with 77.52 % pass percentage while Faridabad remained the poorest with 43.91%.
AADHAAR NUMBERS ON CERTIFICATES
It was for the first time, that Aadhaar numbers were mentioned on the certificates of students. According to official information, there are about 5,000 such students whose Aadhaar card numbers were not updated. Their results have been declared on the Haryana school board’s website, but the certificates would not be issued without Aadhaar number.
