₹1.5 lakh looted from man at gunpoint

BATALA: Two unidentifi­ed persons reportedly robbed ₹1.5 lakh from a person at pistol point here at Dera Baba Nanak on Thursday night.

In his complaint to the police, victim Kashmir Singh, a resident of Chogan Mohalla, said around 9 pm, as he reached Dera Baba Nanak from Jalandhar after borrowing the money from one of his relative, he was chased by two motorcycli­sts from bus stand.

“When I reached near Tara Chand Gali, one of the motorcycli­sts pointed a pistol at me and forced me to stop. They robbed ₹1.5 lakh, my mobile phone and fled away,” he said. Getting informatio­n, a police team led by Dera Baba Nanak police station SHO Ravinder Singh rushed to the spot and started investigat­ions.

A case under Section 379 B (snatching and use of force) against unidentifi­ed persons has been registered.
