16YEAROLD BOY DROWNS IN CANAL AT PANIPAT

A 16-year-old boy allegedly drowned into a canal near Maharana village of Panipat district on Saturday evening. Police said the body was recovered from the canal in Sonepat. The deceased has been identified as Garvit, a student of Class 10 of Maharana village. Garvit’s cousin Sahil said that he fell into the canal on Saturday evening when he was riding a bike. Though Sahil tried to save him, but he fell into the canal. Police have initiated proceedings under Section 174 of CrPC and sent the body for post-mortem at the Panipat civil hospital.
