FATAL ROAD MISHAPS

Overcrowded bus. Fatigued driver. Serpentine roads. It’s a disaster waiting to happen. And it did, recently, as a bus carrying pilgrims skidded off the road in HP’s Kangra district. In the West, drivers of commercial vehicles have to take mandatory breaks and can’t drive for more than eight hours a day. In India, too, we need similar rules. Also, overcrowding of buses has to be checked with sincerity.
