SHOCKING 34yearold Surender Singh was sitting at his friend’s office when unidentified assailants came in a car and attacked him
KURUKSHETRA: A 34-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by four unidentified miscreants outside the Circuit House here on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Surender Singh, alias Jalandhar, of Fatehpur village in Kurukshetra district.
According to witnesses, at least four people with their faces covered came in a car and started firing at Singh when he was sitting at the office of his friend, who is a property dealer. He reportedly received seven bullet injuries and died on the spot.
Kurukshetra superintendent of police (SP) Abhishek Garg reached the spot and called the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team which collected blood and bullet samples from the crime scene. The SP said police are also scanning the CCTV footage from the area.
“Jalandhar was killed in the firing after four people attacked him. From the preliminary investigation, it seems to be a case of rivalry but police have started investigation and a team has been formed to arrest the accused,” Garg added.
Soon after the incident, the family members of the deceased reached Lok Nayak Jai Parkash hospital and staged a dharna against the police demanding immediate arrest of the accused. The agitated family members ended the protest after the SP said the accused will be arrested in two days.
Police have registered a case of murder under Section 302 of the IPC.
