HP CM should be removed in public interest: Mankotia
: A day after he was removed from the post of vicechairman of Himachal Pradesh State Development Board, former Congress minister Vijai Singh Mankotia, describing himself as a game changer in state politics, sought party high command’s intervention to sack CM Virbhadra Singh.
It’s just astonishing that the government notification mentions that I have been removed in public interest where as its Virbhadra Singh, who is out on bail, should be removed in public interest,” Mankotia told the media in a press conference on Friday.
“If anybody had to be removed, it has to be Virbhadra Singh. More than 80% of the people are disillusioned by him,” he added.
Targeting chief secretary VC Pharkha for issuing the orders, he said, “He was seventh in the seniority list but still promoted keeping aside the competence and efficiency of officers senior to him.” He further said, “What moral right does he have to cling to his office? He is out on bail and in his application before the Delhi court, his lawyer stated that the octogenarian CM’s health condition was not good, but on the other side, he is ready to contest the elections again.” “His greed for power has disgraced not only the CM’s office, but also tarnished the image of the state,’ he added.
He out rightly denied that BJP leaders were in contact with him. “There is no question of me joining the BJP.” HTC
