Robbers kill 33yrold woman in Bathinda

Robbers killed a 33-year-old woman and decamped with Rs 1 lakh and some gold jewellery from her house in Kamala Nehru Colony here on Saturday. The deceased, identified as Kanika Gupta, was with her one-and-a-half-year-old son Samarth in the house when the robbers struck. Her husband Anil Gupta, a chartered accountant, had gone to his office. Police said robbers slit Kanika’s throat with a knife and strangulat­ed her to death. The incident came to light when victim’s brother Anuj Kumar came to see her as she did not attend repeated phone calls by her parents who also live in Bathinda. A case under Section 302 ( murder) was registered at a local police station.
