Jain orders probe irregularities in MC
Haryana urban local bodies (ULB) minister Kavita Jain has ordered investigation in 21 cases of irregularities in the municipal corporation (MC), Faridabad, by the Gurugram divisional commissioner.
In a statement, she said the allegations levelled by the anticorruption forum were serious and will be investigated. Officials found guilty will not be spared, she said.
Since the matter was around eight years old, it had been referred to the chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar who approved it, she said.
The investigation will be conducted on a variety of issues which include poor construction of roads, supply of cement bags to contractor without money, water harvesting, accounts statement of funds given to the NBCC company under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, advance to employees, streetlights, encroachment on village common land, fraud in the name of computerisation, irregularities in the purchase of daily goods, sewer and water and unauthorised constructions.
