Jawan injured in Nowshera firing

A day after an army jawan was killed in Pakistan firing on Friday, another was injured along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district on Saturday.

The jawan identified as Sepoy RV Yadav of 54 Rashtriya Rifles was injured in a sniper shot on Saturday morning. He was admitted in the Army Hospital in Rajouri. On Friday, rifleman Jayadrath Singh, 28, died after getting grievously injured in the fire exchange along the LoC in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district. This was the sixth soldier killed in unprovoked firing by Pakistan in a week. Meanwhile, considerin­g safety of schoolchil­dren, schools in areas close to the LoC remained closed for the fourth successive day.
