Committed to ensure 24x7 power supply in state: CM
Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said the state government was working to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the entire state.
The CM was in Karnal where he laid the foundation stones of two 33kV sub-stations at Rs 8 crore. He said to boost electricity supply, several sub-power stations are being set up in the state, adding that steps are being taken to boost power infrastructure.
He said the capacity of the main 220kV power station on Kunjpura Road had been increased to bring relief from power cuts. Later, addressing a gathering at Chaupal, he said the state government had started several schemes for the welfare of the poor and backward communities.
The CM also handed over keys of 71 e-rikshaws to needy women and interest free loans to the 271 women to start small businesses. He also donated his one month’s salary to the Swadeshi Jagran Manch appreciating its efforts to help the needy .
Later, he inaugurated the solar-run micro irrigation pilot project under the Pradhan Mantri Sinchai Yojna in Gumthala Garhu Dera Fateh Singh village in Pehowa of Kurukshetra district. Costing Rs 24.65 crore, it will be country’s first-of-its-kind project which will draw energy from solar power and the grid and will be connected to the nearest 11kV line through hotline to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
He said such projects will be introduced in 36 “dark zones” of the state. The chief minister also laid foundation stone of Golden Jubilee Brahamsarovar community reserve at Thana village of the district.
