PANUN KASHMIR TO SUPPORT REPEALING OF ART 370, 35A
Panun Kashmir, a frontal organisation of displaced Kashmiri pandits reiterated its demand of abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A of the Constitution at its annual convention held on Sunday.
One of the resolution adopted of convention has stressed for abolition of Article 370 and a resolve to support all efforts leading to repealing of the Article 370 and Article 35A.
The convention asserted that the Hindus of Kashmir have borne the worst servitude of a Muslim state, which perpetrated a Hindu genocide and subjected them to a state of exile.
The delegates stated that Panun Kashmir realises that unless Article 370 is abolished, the movement for repeated partitions of India will continue.
Hari Om, a political analyst, quoting from the petition of Charu Wali Khanna, dwelt on how a discriminatory and unconstitutional provision has deprived legitimate Jammu and Kashmir citizens of their rights, women being the worst affected. The other resolution called to recognise the destabilisation in J&K as ‘a jihadi war’ and not merely as terrorism.
Ajay Chrungoo, chairman, Panun Kashmir stated that the events happening in Kashmir have clearly brought to the fore both the ideological content as well as the operational character of an intensely destabilising phenomenon.
“We are face to face with a total war in which the distinction between the terrorist and the civilian dissolves and the society acquires a paramilitary behaviour,” Chrungoo said.
He urged the Centre to recognise the destabilisation in J&K as a jihadi war and not merely as terrorism. “This recognition has become an imperative necessity in case a comprehensive and decisive response is to be evolved to defeat the war,” he said. HTC
