DON’T HESITATE TO BEAT UP COPS, BENGAL BJP HEAD TELLS WORKERS

Do not hesitate to beat up policemen for the ruling party supporters beat them up regularly anyway — this is the instruction from BJP’s Bengal president Dilip Ghosh to his party workers.

Senior police officers have refused to comment.

Speaking on Monday at a meeting in Howrah, Ghosh came up with the logic that Trinamool Congress supporters are getting away after beating up policemen.

“Trinamool supporters are regularly beating up BJP supporters and the police force is framing charges against the victims. So, from now onwards, every time our activists are beaten up by TMC workers, we will complain to the police. If the police refuses to register our complaint, we will have to beat up those policemen. If TMC activists can get away beating the policemen, why can’t BJP follow the same line,” Ghosh argued.

This is not the first time Ghosh has triggered controversy. In December last year, he had this to say for Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

“The chief minister has lost her mind after the demonetisation, and visiting Delhi and Patna to stage protests. If we wanted, we could have grabbed her by hair and thrown her out of Delhi since we have our own police force there.”

If the police refuses to register our complaint, we will have to beat up those policemen. If TMC activists can get away beating policemen, why can’t BJP follow the same line?
