The Special Task Force (STF) and cyber division of Uttarakhand police will soon go all out to silence the six active gangs of organized crime, wanted criminals having awards on their heads and drug mafia working in Dehradun.

This was informed by the ADG law and order Ashok Kumar after a closed door meeting with the officials of STF and Cyber police at police headquarters on Tuesday. In the directives issued to the STF officials, Kumar asked them to hunt down nearly 50 criminals with more than ₹5000 awards on their heads and arrest them as soon as possible.

Kumar said if needed prize money for their arrest be increased. The ADG law and order stressed that there are six active gangs of organised criminals in the state and some of their members are behind the bars but those on bail are active in crimes.

“The active members of these gangs must be identified and all efforts be made to quash their bails while action must be initiated against those who sponsored their bail bonds,” said Kumar to the STF SSP Riddhim Agrawal and other officials present in the meeting.

“We will also take fresh look on activities of drugs mafia working in the state and sleeper drugs activists will be identified to arrested menace,” the ADG said “We have decided upon periodically meeting between SHOs from local police stations and STF officials in order develop proper coordination between them. Review of STF and cyber police activities will be done by the STF SSP every month while ADG land and order will follow it up in every three months,” he added.
