TO GET WHAT YOU WANT, FOLLOW THE CLOCK’S PRINCIPLE: KEEP TICKING

- PP Wangchuk n Innervoice@hindustantimes.com

Get what you want!

Now that may seem to be just thinking aloud. But, believe me, it is possible and you can make it happen. Of course, you have to plan well and follow it with the strict regime required to achieve it.

One may find it quite tough to begin with, but as one goes on working hard meticulously, things begin clearing up and the clouds start vanishing away. Nelson Mandela expresses this feeling when he says: “It always seems impossible until it is done.”

That means we have to start somehow somewhere. The hurdles in the beginning should be taken as a challenge and not as a problem. React positively until you gain confidence enough to carry on. American author Charles R Swindoll says that “life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it.

Even if you go slow initially, it is alright. What matters is not the pace but the determination to go on. A time comes when your pace will be accelerated automatically, and that will give you a fresh wind of hope and achievement. The point is to not give up, whatever the circumstances. In times of crisis, you should look out for fresh and different strategies to tackle the problem.

And, finally, let’s follow American humourist Sam Levenson: “Don’t watch the clock; do what it does: Keep going.” Inner Voice comprises contributions from our readers. The views expressed are personal
