Five-year-old going to school crushed under bus in Rewari

INCIDENT TOOK PLACE WHEN THE VICTIM’S FATHER WAS TAKING HIM AND TWO OTHER KIDS TO THEIR SCHOOL

: In second such incident in Rewari within a week, a fiveyear-old boy was crushed to death by a bus while he was going to school with his father.

The incident occurred on Circular Road Thursday morning when Nai Abadi Colony resident Sunil Kumar was taking his son Yash and two neighbourh­ood children to their school on his motorcycle.

When he entered the main road, a speeding private bus hit his motorcycle due to which his son Yash, who was sitting on the bike, fell down and got crushed under the wheels of the bus. He died on the spot, while and his father and two other girls also suffered injuries.

The police said the driver did not stop the bus after the incident and tried to flee. However, locals chased him till Jhajjar Chowk, where he left the bus and fled away.

Angry locals resorted to damaging the bus and broke all its windows with hockey sticks. They also tried to set it ablaze twice, however, the police present on the spot managed to take control of the situation by lathicharg­ing the locals and dispersing them after almost three hours.

The police said they have registered a case against the bus driver and launched a hunt to nab him. Earlier on Friday, a four year old boy in Kosli town of the district was crushed under his school bus while he was being dropped off at home.
