Khattar renames K’shetra village after Abhimanyu
KURUKSHETRA:Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday visited several religious places in Kurukshetra district and performed rituals.
During his visit to Amin village in the district, the CM announced to rename it as Abhimanyupur. He issued directions for the construction of a park with a statue of Abhimanyu in the village and widen the AminThanesar road.
He said the primary health centre will be upgraded to community health centre. He directed that a map should be prepared for the nearby pilgrimage sites in Rantuk Yaksh Tirath. Talking to mediapersons at Rantuk Yaksh Tirath, Khattar said the state government was preparing a route map of pilgrimage sites on nearly 175-km radius of Kurukshetra city to boost tourism. A special bus service will be started from October 14 to facilitate tourists.
He visited to 15 pilgrimage sites and said that the land of Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Jind and Kaithal is known for its glorious history.
During his visit to Ban Ganga Tirath at Dayalpur village, he said the Kurukshetra Development Board will maintain cleanliness at all ponds located at pilgrimage sites and arrangements would be made to fill them with clean water.
He announced that a ground and ghats will be developed in Kirmach village and new road would be constructed from the fair ground to the pilgrimage site. At Shalihotra Tirath, the CM announced to construct a statue of Yudhishtir at the Tirath in Sarsa village.
He also visited Galedwa village to pay tributes to freedom fighter Kartar Singh, who passed away on Friday at the age of 103. He said Kartar Singh played an important role in the freedom movement and announced that the government will carry developmental works after his name.
