ROTHAK MP ACCUSES KHATTARLED GOVT OF SPREADING CRIME, CORRUPTION AND CASTEISM IN 3 YEARS

CHANDIGARH: Demanding a thorough probe into the Haryana government ‘s alleged ₹1,600 crore expenditure on year-long Swarna Jayanti celebrations, Congress’ Rohtak MP Deepender Singh Hooda on Wednesday accused Manohar Lal Khattar-led BJP government of spreading corruption, crime and casteism during its three-year rule.

“In the garb of celebrating golden jubilee of Haryana, the BJP government organised events across the state and spent ₹1,600 crore. There is a big question mark how this money was spent,” Hooda, the third-term Lok Sabha MP said at a press conference here.

“It is a scam that must be investigated to ascertain how the public money was wasted and who all are the beneficiaries. The government should explain how it spent this huge amount.”

Deepender said the Congress government (2004-2014) led by his father Bhupinder Singh Hooda had on the other hand waived-off Rs 1,600 crore loan of the farmers.

He said: “That’s the difference between the Congress and the BJP government. The 10 years Congress rule was actually the golden period in the history of Haryana.

Now, this insensitive BJP government has put the state on the reverse gear and derailed the economy.”

Hooda said: “As many as 75 people have been killed in Haryana with ‘sarkari bullets’ during past three years. The civilian casualties in Haryana in three years are more than that of Kashmir. This never happened earlier in Haryana.”

That 10 lakh youths of the state lost their jobs due to demonetisation and GST, the MP said the state government had recruited near 8,000 people in three years against the promise of giving government jobs to 40,000 people every year.
