FOR THE STATE, RERA IS HEADQUARTERED AT PANCHKULA, BUT THE GOVT HAS DECIDED TO ESTABLISH IT FOR GURGAON AS WELL

GURGAON:The city will soon have its own Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Rera), announced Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday. He added that only the names of officials remain to be declared.

“This new body will regulate the real estate development and disputes at the citizens’ doorstep; the city needs it for better development,” Khattar said after inaugurating a 50-bed Civil Hospital in Pataudi. The hospital will cater to about 1,000 patients per day, he said.

“Gurugram is a model city and the state government is determined to keep its progress on the fast track in every way, be it roads, transport, real estate or the Metro,” the CM said.

The Rera in Haryana is headquartered at Panchkula, but the state government decided to establish an independent realty body for Gurgaon to regulate the realty sector in the Millennium City where 150 real estate projects, both residential and commercial, are underway. Towards this end, it notified the Rera rules on July 28 this year.

Khattar added that the state government will also establish a cyber crime cell for the city which houses over 200 Fortune500 companies.

“The residents will not have to go to Chandigarh as the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has been set up to redress their issues and clear all files and development works here by a competent authority.”

Khattar said an authority to oversee the progress of KundliManesar-Palwal expressway is also under consideration.

He said industries would be set up on both sides of the expressway and it would benefit not only industrialists, but also employable youth.

“The chief minister inaugurated the Civil Hospital and laid foundation stone of various developmental projects, worth Rs100 crore, in Pataudi. He also announced construction of a 50-bed civil hospital at Farrukhnagar and another one in Gurugram as the Sheetla Mata Hospital,” said a government spokesperson.

Union Minister of State for chemicals and fertilisers Rao Inderjit Singh and MLA Pataudi Bimla Chaudhary were present for the hospital’s inauguration
