CAREER MELA ENDS; SEES OVER 30,000 FOOTFALL

The fourth edition of the career guidance mela, SPARK, concluded here on Thursday. More than 30,000 students participat­ed in this event. MLA from Jalandhar (West) assembly segment Sushil Kumar Rinku presided over the function.

In his address, the MLA said that this unique initiative of the district administra­tion will go a long way in shaping the destiny of the students of the district.

Complement­ing DC Varinder Kumar Sharma for this event, he said that this will give impetus to the career of students, especially from the rural background.

The MLA said that the students basically from the rural background sometimes choose wrong career due to which they suffer throughout their life.

However, he said that such efforts will go a long way in grooming their career.

The DC said that the aim of the mela was to groom the future of students. He said that most of the students face a major dilemma in selecting their career after matric. He also said that this mela will help in fructifyin­g chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s effort of Ghar Ghar Naukri.

Civil Judge (senior division)-cum-Secretary District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Gurmeet Tiwana exhorted the students to pursue a career in law for helping the needy in getting justice. Commission­er of police Praveen Kumar Sinha was also present at the event.
