WOMAN ALLEGES RAPE, BLACKMAIL BY AUTO DRIVER, ACCOMPLICES

GURGAON: A 42-year-old Gurgaon woman has alleged that she was raped by an auto-driver in 2014 and that she was subsequently blackmailed by him and his accomplices, who videographed the incident.

The matter came to light on Thursday when the victim consumed an insecticide after failing to meet the demands of the accused.

The accused, over the past three years, extorted ₹25 lakh from the woman by threatening to post the video on the internet , she said. The accused threatened to kill the woman and her family members if the money was not paid, she told the police.

A case in this regard was registered at Sector 9A police station under section 376-D, 386, 34 of the IPC.

As per the complaint lodged by the woman, she was returning from her sister’s house in South Delhi and she took an auto from the HUDA City Centre metro station in April 2014.

The victim said when the auto reached Leisure Valley in Sector 29, she lost consciousness and regained her senses after an hour near Gurgaon railway station. At Prakashpuri Chowk, the auto driver showed her a video in which she was being raped by two men. He threatened to post it online if she didn’t pay ₹25 lakh in six months.

The woman said she told the police that she borrowed ₹3 lakh from her friends and relatives. After some months, she took a gold loan and made another payment. Finally, she took her house papers and took a loan against the property and paid the accused around ₹25 lakh.
