AFTER A POINT, MATERIAL COMFORTS CANNOT HELP YOU IN YOUR LIFE

- Atishay Jain

Materialistic things are important in everyone’s life to an extent. Still, having achieved material comforts of one’s desire can never spark that sense of completeness in oneself in the manner non-materialistic things can. A human being, performing each of his or her daily chores, is analogous to a donkey who is disillusioned with the tiny carrot hung over his head a foot ahead. He runs tirelessly to catch it, and his master bates him every day with it so that he could run without stoppages and can deliver the load on time.

The teachings of great ascetics such as Lord Buddha, Lord Mahavira and Swami Vivekanada, converge upon a common point — How to find the real you? Their teachings have the ultimate power which can guide you, drive you towards completeness. A human body is a by-product of the big bang that gave birth to this colossal universe and resultantly a human houses an entire universe within him or her. We wander from temples to churches to mosques in search of that all-pervasive positive energy that runs this and many other parallel universes together. But it can be discovered within ourselves by following the right path, the right conduct, patience, perseverance and leading a disciplined life. God is even inside the tiniest particle present in this universe. (Inner Voice comprises contributions from our readers.) The views expressed are personal Innervoice@hindustantimes.com
