From schools to IITs, govt wants all to tune in to PM’s talk on exam stress
The government has asked educational institutions across the country, including IITs, to facilitate live telecast of ‘Pareeksha Pe Charcha’ — Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interactive programme with students to de-stress them before exams.
The University Grants Commission on Thursday sent a letter to all universities and colleges regarding the preparations they must make to screen the event live. The letter said Modi will address students on February 16 at 11am through live telecast on handling examination stress.
“Although the Prime Minister will be addressing select students at Talkatora Stadium.. this programme will be made available through live telecast and also through webcasting so that all institutions can have access to the message of the Prime Minister and the discussions thereon. You may please like to take steps for providing facilities of having projection on large screen to view the programme for the students in your institutions,” it read.
Modi has been stressing on the need to make exams fun. He has penned a book called Exam Warriors, which was released on Saturday. In January 2017, in an episode of his radio programme Mann Ki Baat, the Prime Minister spoke about exam stress.
The letter by UGC further stated that a website had been launched — https://innovate.mvgov.in — to facilitate students who wanted to pose questions to the PM on issues pertaining to examination and academic stress.“The students may be intimated about this facility so that they can get an opportunity to address questions directly to the Prime Minister. This window will be open till 2pm on February 11”.
